Fairy tale retellings are popular right now. I love these retellings, especially those written by Melanie Dickerson. Most of us know the tale of The Little Mermaid, but you’ve never heard it told this way before. Oh and not to mention that this is a world that is all human and magic doesn’t exist set in Medieval Times. Read the rest of this entry

Book hangovers are the worst! I finished Heartless by Marissa Meyer the other day and I’m still trying to process everything. The characters, the world building, the plot, everything. I originally bought this because the cover is gorgeous underneath the book jacket. It is by far the best cover I have ever seen on a book!! I mean, just check out the black and red checkerboard with a crown for the king on the front. The same pattern appears on the back, but instead of a crown for the king, it’s a joker’s hat. Have you ever felt such sadness when a series you’ve come to love has finally come to an end? Well, that’s the case with this. “The Returning” is the third and final installment of The Seers Trilogy. This wasn’t Rachelle Dekker’s, daughter of Ted Dekker, best work. While I have mixed feelings (you’ll see why later), it was an excellent wrap up. Read the rest of this entry

Everyone has been telling me I have to read this and it’s constantly showing up in my Instagram newsfeed. The cover for the hardback is also super cool. While it took a little bit for me to enjoy it, I have to say that I LOVED THIS BOOK! Read the rest of this entry

About the Book

2dbfb8c1-b14b-4e44-992c-5706dd9bce68-197x300Chelsea Welling is a completely normal fifteen year old girl… well normal except for the pesky fact that she thinks she is going crazy. Either that or she really is being transported to a magical world known locally as Amar. However when Chelsea is transported to Amar with her friend Easton, she knows beyond a shadow of a doubt that these little trips are more than figments of her imagination. Then the unthinkable happens. Chelsea, Easton, Chelsea’s brother Clint, and their mutual friend Bobby are all stranded in Amar. They cannot return to Earth until they finish a dangerous quest that their fathers set out on over twenty years ago.
Chelsea is in for one trying week as she flees from werewolves, faces down faeries, and fits into fancy dresses- all while she struggles alongside her friends to fulfill the all-but-impossible tasks of finding out what the quest their fathers set out on was, and succeeding where their fathers failed.
