If you’re like me, then you’ve probably grown up in the church, read tons of books on grace, heard sermon after sermon about grace, and perhaps even attended Bible college where you’ve heard about it all the time. We’ve heard it so much that sometimes we miss out on experiencing the grace of God or even sharing it with others.
Grace is Greater is not another book on the theology of grace. It’s more about experiencing the grace of God.

The title is perfect when it comes to describing Jefferson Bethke’s book. It’s Not What You Think! Most of us have heard the Gospel, but how many of us actually understand what it is and what it means? The Gospel is so much more than just a transaction between us and Jesus Christ. Jesus didn’t just die on the Cross so that we can go to heaven when we die.
Bethke guides his readers from the creation of the universe in Genesis to the celebration in Revelation. When we learn to examine the Bible from the beginning, we see a story so much more beautiful and compelling than how many Christians are telling it today. This was definitely my favorite part that he focused on. When it comes to the Bible, we can’t just take bits and pieces that we like. We need both the New and Old Testament because it shows us the whole story.
