Today’s topic is: What Elements Or Aspects Do Books Have To Have In Order For You To Recommend To Friends Or Family?

Great question! There are quite a few specific elements that a book has to have in order for me recommend it to friends and family.

The book has to be clean and wholesome. It cannot contain graphic violence and sexual scenes, crude language, or just anything alone those lines that is trashy. Since I’m a Christian, I tend to recommend mostly books that have a faith-based message because those are highly important to me. I also highly recommend books that are edited thoroughly. That means they contain very little grammar, punctuation, or spelling errors and the writing flows nicely. Oh and it has to be interesting and perhaps thought-provoking.

What about you? What elements do books have to have in order for you to recommend them?

Interview with Varina Denman

Happy Friday Book Lovers! I’m excited to have Varina Denman with us here on the blog today about her newest novel, Looking Glass Lies.

About Looking Glass Lies

imageA poignant and relatable novel, Looking Glass Lies captures the war women wage against themselves, and the struggle to see beauty reflected in a mirror not distorted by society’s unrelenting expectations.

For most of her adult life, Cecily Ross has compared herself to other women—and come up short. After a painful divorce from her emotionally abusive husband, Cecily returns to her hometown of Canyon, Texas, looking to heal.

But coming home isn’t what she expects. In a town as small as Canyon, her pain is difficult to escape—especially with her model-perfect ex–sister-in-law working at the town’s popular coffee-shop hangout. With help from her father, a support group, and an old friend who guides her to see her own strengths, Cecily may have a shot at overcoming her insecurities and learning to love again.

The true test comes when tragedy strikes, opening Cecily’s eyes to the harmfulness of her distorted views on beauty—and giving her the perfect opportunity to find peace at last

March 2017 Wrap Up

Hey Everyone! Are you curious to know what I’ve read each month? I try to review the books I read as soon as I finish them, but sometimes that doesn’t happen. I’m always curious to know what other people have read each month so I’ll start by sharing mine.

All of the books mentioned unless otherwise noted elsewhere were sent to me for free from authors and publishers in exchange for an honest review. All opinions and views expressed are my own.

Summaries are taken from the back of the books.
