About the Book:

A Family to Call Her Own

After becoming a foster parent to a young boy, equine therapist Jordan Conley’s life gets turned upside down. Little Levi is in need of an exceptional pediatrician, which means seeking help from Dr. Ash Sheehan—a man that, despite her heart-pounding crush, isn’t her type. Her life is horses and hay, and she can’t imagine the suit-clad doctor in a pair of cowboy boots. As a confirmed bachelor, Ash has never been nervous around women, but there’s something about Jordan that flusters him, and working closely together doesn’t help. The last thing he’s looking for is long-term romance. But the more involved he gets, the more he wishes they could stay together…always.

My Thoughts:

A Baby for the Doctor” by Stephanie Dees is a super adorable read as well. This time the story focuses on Claire’s sister, Jordan, and Joe’s brother, Ash.

I’ll admit, I fell in love with Ash as soon as he entered the story. This guy is your good-looking, heart-throb kind of guy who has a reputation as kind of a playboy, but truly has a desire for something real and genuine. Jordan has a major crush on him so the romance is kind of insta-love, but the way these two bond. It’s something quite special.

Jordan finds herself becoming a foster mother to a three-year-old boy who comes from an abused and neglected home. She has a way with children and gets this adorable little guy to trust her. Ash happens to be her pediatrician and the two work together to help this little heal and to show him the love he deserves.

I loved that despite the very real issues that come along with abuse and foster children, it doesn’t go into detail and is quite light and fluffy. I also enjoyed the horse therapy. Some of my friends have gone into that field so it was so neat to watch that on the pages of the book.

This was also an opposites attract romance. Those are my favorites! Jordan is your tough girl, mud on her pants, flannel, and boots kinda gal. Ash is your oxford and loafers, never a stain on his clothing even though he’s a pediatrician kind of guy.

This is book two of the Family Blessings series, but you don’t need to read them in order. This is a story that can easily be read as a stand-alone. Although, Joe and Claire, characters from the first book, do appear throughout so it would be more fun to read their story prior.

Overall, I enjoyed this story a lot. Highly recommended!
