Release Date: October 3, 2017
Genre: Non-Fiction / Christian Living / Women
About the Book:
A fiercehearted woman looks life in the face and says, “You can’t beat me.” She knows love is a risk but reaches out anyway. She chases Jesus with a tender, world-changing wildness. She never gives in, never gives up, and never let’s go. Best of all, the potential to be a fiercehearted woman is inside each and every woman on earth.
In her most powerful book yet, beloved bestselling author Holley Gerth inspires her readers to become the stronger, braver, truer women they long to be by sharing personal stories of her own struggles and victories. As readers join Holley on this journey, they’ll discover a freedom they never imagined could be theirs: the freedom to experience life, love, and faith to the fullest because fear can no longer hold them back.
For the woman who is restless or longing for more, Fiercehearted is an invitation to the life God has always meant for her to embrace.
I’m trying to make it more of a point to read more non-fiction. Sometimes I struggle when it comes to Christian Living because I’m not a huge fan of the feel good and very little Scripture (if any at all) kind of read. I’ve been hearing fantastic things about Holley Gerth so I decided to check out Fiercehearted.
Holley Gerth is raw, genuine, and pours her out into this book making it vulnerable and real. She writes in a way that it feels as if you’re sitting with her in a coffee shop drinking coffee with her. She uses stories from her own personal experiences to show truths that every woman knows but sometimes struggle with. She shows that we’re all imperfect and falls short. It’s as if she gets it. Her vulnerability will encourage her readers to want to be more open with others. It’s not because we’re not pretty enough, good enough, or any of that but because as believers, we belong to God. This is a book of hope.
The chapters are super short which I think were the perfect length. Whether you’re busy and only feel like reading a chapter or two when you can or you just feel like reading several chapters. There are discussion questions at the back of the book so you can easily use it for a book club. There is some Scripture, but not as much as I would have liked.
It is a book that you can learn a lot from and will encourage women everywhere. Recommended.
