About the Book:
Secrets, Sparks, and Second Chances…a Heartwarming Holiday Romance
Seb Pierce isn’t exactly a cowboy, but after fifteen years on a ranch in Texas, he might as well be. And he’d do just about anything to keep the rancher who took him in so many years ago from losing his land…including returning to the wealthy roots he’s long since abandoned. Seb agrees to work for his stern grandfather for one year in return for an early draw on his inheritance. But he never expected the agreement to land him in a quirky small town in Iowa at Christmas-time, renovating a dilapidated theater…and running into a woman he never thought he’d see again. She might not remember him, but he remembers her.
After too many years away from her hometown–and too many failures to count–Leigh Renwycke is finally back in Maple Valley and living the stable life she used to wish for. If only she could shake the old restlessness that used to get her into trouble. When Seb Pierce waltzes into her world and begs for her help planning the theater’s holiday reopening, it could be the solution to her discontent. If she pulls it off, it might be enough to jumpstart a new career…and to prove once and for all that the new-and-improved Leigh is here to stay.
But between old secrets and new sparks, a town treasure in time for Christmas may not be as easy as it seems…especially once Leigh learns the truth about Seb.
Melissa Tagg is one of those authors that I don’t even need to know what the book is about because I already know I’m going to love it. That’s the case with One Enchanted Noël. If you are a fan of the Walker Family series, then you are going to want to check this newest addition to the Enchanted Christmas Collection.
First off, it’s Maple Valley! One of the best fictional small towns ever created. Seriously, I wish it were real. I love all of the wacky town events! There’s an ice maze, a snowman building contest, a movie theater reopening party, and so many more fun events that I wish every town did.
If you’re looking for a Christmas novella that stands out from the others, then look no further. Sometimes I tire easily when it comes to Christmas novellas because they’re all almost the same kind of story, cheesy, and full of the cozy romance. That’s not the case with this novella. It has all the beautiful coziness of a novella and romance without being cheesy and unrealistic. This is so much more than a Christmas story. While it takes place during Christmas, it’s not the theme, so the story can easily be read any time of the year.
One Enchanted Noël is a story about overcoming the struggles of fear and addiction. Our pasts don’t have to define us, but it can easily shape our way of thinking. This is a story of getting back to our callings and doing what you love, learning to let go, redemption, forgiveness, and so much more.
Melissa Tagg is one of my all-time favorite authors, but I think this brings the icing on the cake. You can easily read this in one sitting. I did! You can easily read this as a standalone, but I recommend reading the prior two books as well because the Renwycke’s are a super fun bunch and you’ll find yourself wanting more. The author recently released all three novellas into a paperback collection which I’m itching to add to my collection.
