About the Book:

When opposites attract, the sparks ignite more than they bargained for…

Dylan Tehauno is a hotshot, an expert in preventing and fighting forest fires. He knows that the inferno that killed a tech billionaire was no accident–and he suspects that he and filmmaker Meadow Wrangler were supposed to die, too. When lawmakers identify Dylan as a prime suspect, he and Meadow decide to find the real arsonist themselves.

Dylan and Meadow have nothing in common. He’s a proud Apache and a war hero, a self-made man. She’s a rich girl with a tabloid past. But there’s no denying the heat between them. Is there more to their attraction than physical desire? Will they survive long enough to find out?

My Thoughts:

Jenna Kernan’s books just keep getting better and better. This is my favorite series of her’s so far! Kernan takes you on a fast-paced journey filled with suspense, non-stop dangerous circumstances, and a cute romance.

I found myself empathizing with both of the characters. I especially loved Dylan’s character. Even though he isn’t against sex before marriage, he doesn’t take casual sex lightly. He believes in waiting for the woman who he will marry and have a future one day with. He is also the kind of guy who follows the rules and doesn’t do anything reckless and crazy. He’s an honorable man and I love that about him. Meadow doesn’t understand any of this at first because she’s the complete opposite. She’s the rich Anglo party girl who is used to getting her way. She’s used to men wanting her only for sex or for her money.

Since we’re on this topic, there is sex in the novel. Luckily it’s only a page or two here and there which can easily be skipped over without it affecting the rest of the story.

This story will keep the pages turning until you’ve reached the very end. Kernan keeps you on your toes. Just as you thought you knew what was going on, there was an unexpected twist and turn.

Overall, the story was gripping, intense, and heart-wrenching. I found myself at times laughing, crying, and cheering the characters on throughout the whole story. I enjoyed where Kernan went with this story.

Highly recommended.
