About the Book
Book: 21 Days of Grace
Author: Compiled by Kathy Ide
Release Date: March 24, 2015
Love fiction? Looking for a devotional? Check out 21 DAYS OF GRACE, book one in the Fiction Lover’s Devotional series (published by BroadStreet Publishing Group). Fictional stories followed by brief life applications written by best-selling Christian novelists and debut authors, including Angela Hunt, Cindy Woodsmall, and Deborah Raney. Great for individual or group study.
Christian fiction has the power to touch hearts and change lives. This devotional is beautifully done and perfect for the fiction lover. It’s the kind of devotional that would be perfect to read while drinking a cup of tea or coffee. I was excited when I first received this devotional because many of my favorite authors contributed. Many were authors whom I trusted because many of their books pertain scripture or are based on Scripture.
For 21 days, this devotional will take the reader on a journey through short stories. This is unique and fun. Some days there was only a scripture or two to read that went along with the book, but there were several days when there weren’t any at all. I was disappointed those particular days because I don’t want to read just a story as part of my devotional with God. I want some Scripture to go with it. My favorite day was from Diane Simmons Dill. I’m not familiar with any of her books, but her devotional had verse after verse. It was the kind of devotional that had contained verse after verse while also challenging me in my walk with God.
I loved that the authors included life applications that were simple and applicable. They weren’t applications that were broad, but simple ways on how to actually apply it your life. It brought the stories full circle and went nicely with the story for the day. It’s a superb devotional about grace, but I would have liked to see a lot more Scripture than it contained.
I would recommend this for new believers because it gives the Word of God in a way that isn’t overwhelming to the reader.
Disclaimer: I received a copy of this book from the publisher for my honest review, which I have given. I was not required to write a positive review and have not been compensated for it in any way. All opinions expressed are my own.

Guest Post from Kathy Ide
I’ve always loved Christian fiction, and I’ve seen the power of fiction to touch hearts and change lives, both firsthand and hearing about the experiences of others. But you know, in my quiet times with the Lord, reading a chapter from a novel just doesn’t seem quite appropriate. So a devotional with short fiction stories seemed like a great solution. And you can take these purse-sized devotionals wherever you go, to read when you have a few minutes of down time. It’s a great way to get “inspiration on the go.” And they make fantastic gifts for friends and loved ones.
