Adult coloring books are all the rage right now! So many of them are fabulous. After experimenting with All is Bright: A Devotional Journey to Color Your Way to Christmas, I’m hooked!
If you’re looking for an Advent to do this Christmas season, you’ll want to check this one out. It’s perfect for both individual use or to do with your family. It’s kid-friendly. There is a short devotional to help you focus on Jesus Christ during the chaos season of Christmas along with a coloring page for each day of the month of December. The content of this devotional focuses on the birth of Jesus Christ starting with God’s promise for a Saviour and ending with Paul’s message of pressing on into the future.
These are just a sample of what some of the pages look like.
Each day, beginning with December 1st, is a short devotional with a title and scripture with a coloring page on the other side. Unlike most advents, this doesn’t finish on Christmas Day. This goes until December 31st so you have an entire month.
I used colored pencils in the pictures above, but markers, watercolors, or whatever you prefer to use should work. I did experiment with markers and was impressed that they didn’t bleed through the pages. Even though the pages are thick, there aren’t any blank pages so that would be something to take into consideration if using markers or sharpies.
The back section is full of conversation starters and prayers that focus on worship. These are perfect to do with your kids or as a Bible study group. There are also tons of simple coloring pages that kids would love to color and use to decorate. There are ornaments and bookmarks to color and cut out.
I had so much fun coloring these and I can’t wait to really use the book for my own personal use this December. During a busy time of the year, this is a great way to spend time with God and to worship Him.
