Melissa Tagg’s books are always amazing, but this is her best yet! First off, this cover is super cute and one of my favorite covers I have ever seen. Two, I think I have a crush on Beckett Walker. Last but not least, this is the cutest story I have ever read.
Revisiting Maple Valley and the Walker family is special. We discover some of the family dynamics and learn about Beckett in previous books. This time we get to truly discover who Beckett is. After all these years, Beckett has finally returned home to attend his cousin’s wedding. His entrance is quite dramatic. However, it wasn’t his choice. He has avoided his arrest warrant for six years. Unexpectedly, Beckett finds himself working off his community service hours at Kit Danby’s apple orchard. He is quickly trying to plan his future. He has hopes of becoming an Army JAG Corp Officer but that means leaving all of Maple Valley behind, including Kit.
Beckett’s childhood best friend, Kit Danby, has also returned home from London. She is determined to stay local and reviving her grandparents’ apple orchard into an iconic Maple Valley tourist attraction. While she enjoys having Beckett back in her life and working with her to bring the orchard back to life, there are unspoken and unresolved issues between the two. This reunion is both a blessing and heartache because everyone in Kit’s life abandons her.
Melissa Tagg has crafted a beautiful story filled with family dynamics and romance. This is a work that has all of the feels. You’ll laugh as there are tons of adorable scenes! You’ll cry, you’ll cheer. It has a cute romance that will have you swooning over Beckett. Oh, and you can’t forget about the adorable goat, Flynnie. The characters of Maple Valley become like your own friends and family. They stick with you long after the story is over.
The town of Maple Valley is unique. They have such odd yet fun events that I wish my own town held. I mean, have you ever attended an event that took place in a drained pool? I really wish I could visit this town! Or maybe even LIVE there!
The spiritual element is impactful and applicable. Even when we let go and want to give up, God is still holding onto us the whole time. The message was encouraging without being preachy and in your face. It flowed perfectly throughout the story that causes a goofy grin to appear on my face.
Overall, I highly recommend Keep Holding On. In fact, I recommend the entire series of The Walker Family. You have to go check this series out if you love contemporary romance novels. This is one of the best there is!
