I’m really excited to share with you about this book because this is a topic that many of us struggle with. I know I do. I mean we all have that we aren’t “good enough”. We all deal with shame at one point or another in life. It’s everywhere.

“Whether it’s related to relationships, body image, work difficulties, or a secret sin, we all experience shame at some point in our lives.”

I’m giving away a copy to ONE lucky winner so be sure to stay tuned into the end of this post!

About the Book:

Unashamed: Healing Our Brokenness and Finding Freedom from Shame offers hope to those struggling under the burden of shame. This book shines the life-giving light of the gospel on the things that leave us feeling worthless and rejected, directing our attention to the God who promises to forgive and restore us—no matter what.

My Review:

Unashamed: Healing Our Brokenness and Finding Freedom From Shame is a small little book that teaches the differences between shame and guilt. This is a really neat read because we have all felt shame at one or another. Heather Davis Nelson conveys the message of shame in a realistic and relatable way while pointing her readers towards the Cross. Your perspective will change because Mrs. Nelson explains that shame can be the most fundamental way to show us our need as human beings for redemption. We can exchange shame for the Gospel and the redemption of Jesus Christ.

The chapters are short with each ending with questions. These can either be used for personal use or use as a discussion group. Same goes for the book. This is perfect because it doesn’t overwhelm.

While the author is a counselor, which in all honesty, made me really excited to pick this one up, the pages are filled with Scripture.

I think this is the perfect read for any woman who struggles with shame and needs a reminder that there is hope.
