Where do I even begin with this amazing new release from Becky Wade? First off, the cover is absolutely stunning. I recently read in one of Mrs. Wade’s blogs that this is a real life married couple on the cover as well. That just makes it even more precious!

Plus, this was an amazing end to the Porter family series. This is one of the most COMPELLING romances I have read in a long time. Filled with very interesting close-to-real-life characters while also being interesting is a wonderful mix.

I loved Dru and Gray, although at times I wanted to hit them upside the head. They’re both so darn stubborn it’s not even funny!

Gray Fowler is the NFL superstar for the Mustangs for the last ten years. He is your typical athlete. Womanizer. Partier. Loves the fan attention. He’s used to fan attention but his agency decides to hire Sutton Security, and executive protection agency, to guard him when he begins receiving threats from a stalker. Did I mention that this wasn’t Gray’s decision because he believes he can take care of himself? Having to deal with bodyguards 24/7 gives him a headache, especially when one of them is a beautiful, young woman. He is quite chauvinistic so he wonders how in the world can a female half his size protect him better than he can himself.

Dru Porter is the youngest of four children. She also happens to be the only girl in the family. She is former Marine, an expert markswoman, and a black belt. She dealt with a disaster on her last mission which damaged her reputation. In order to redeem herself, she is determined to find Gray’s stalker while also avoiding a romantic attachment between herself and the rugged football player with the mysterious past.

At first these characters weren’t at all relatable, but as the story went on, they were.  They knew how to tease each other and be serious at the same time. It was also refreshing that Becky Wade made the characters real people who dealt with real emotions and who struggled with letting physical attraction become too much if you’re not careful. The chemistry between these two people were perfect.

Speaking of emotions, it has all of the feels! You’ll laugh, cry, cheer, and any other emotion you might deal with. It’s beautiful.

There also were no dull moments in this book. The pace was perfect and I kept finding myself picking it back up again until I finished it. I didn’t want it to end.

I did not read the earlier books in this series before reading this, so this can easily be a stand-alone or simply read as part of the series. Even though this is the last book in the series and I’m sad to see it end, I don’t have to be sad until I read those! Plus, I loved reading about Bo and Meg.

Disclaimer: I received a copy of this book from the publisher for my honest review, which I have given. I was not required to write a positive review and have not been compensated for it in any way. All opinions expressed are my own.
