The Christmas Joy Ride by Melody Carlson
Release Date: August 2015
Genre: Fiction – Christmas
Melody Carlson has exceeded my expectations once again. The Christmas Joy Ride is such a light and fun read that it’ll become a tradition to read it every Christmas. Joy is Miranda’s eighty-five-year-old next door neighbor. Joy tells Miranda about her plans to drive from Chicago to Phoenix in an old decked out for Christmas RV in the dead of winter. Miranda thinks the old woman has gone completely batty, yet finds herself joining her on her adventure because she’s concern that she cannot make the trip by herself. She also is unemployed and is about to lose to her house to foreclosure so she may as well join Joy anyways.
Joy wants to spread some Christmas cheer to those who are struggling this Christmas. You will laugh, cry, and cheer as the story unfolds. Little does Miranda know that Joy has a hidden agenda for their Christmas joy-ride. You’ll just have to read the book for yourself to find out what exactly that is.
Melody Carlson will make you feel as if you are apart of the joyride. In fact, it might make you want to go spread Christmas cheer to people on Route 66 in an old decked for Christmas RV yourself. This is definitely one of my favorite Christmas reads.
